The National Institute of Statistics (INS) provides users with a new product: the 2014 Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) of national scope, replacing of the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (IHPC) base 2008, limited to the capital Niamey. The IHPC base 2014 is the result of a methodology common to the eight member states of the Economic Union and West African Monetary Union (UEMOA). Its reference population is all households Africans living in Niger. The basket in question comprises 657 varieties monitored in about 1524 observation points scattered throughout the country. More than 11,471 price quotes are performed each month. The weights used come from the results of a survey of the conditions
